Ruu Campbell (born April 4) is a British singer-songwriter from Shropshire, England. His music has been compared to Bon Iver and James Vincent McMorrow.[1] Campbell is currently in the process of releasing his debut solo album entitled, Heartsong.

Biography Edit

Campbell has collaborated with numerous well-known bands and artists such as Leftfield, Sly and Robbie, Greg Wells, Ken Thomas, Ted Barnes, and Phill Brown. Campbell was formally previously part of Leftfield until he left to pursue his solo career.[2]Campbell recently finished a Rough Trade tour with Dylan LeBlanc and is currently touring Europe and the United States as a solo artist and alongside the band Younger Brother with whom he is a close friend of.[3] He was recruited as the lead vocalist for Younger Brother's album entitled Vaccine in 2011.[4]

Ruu Campbell has also written ad campaigns for LloydsTemplate:Disambiguation needed, Vodafone, and the Prostate Cancer Charity.

He is currently working on a new album for the Cinematic Orchestra as well as his debut solo album entitled, Heartsong.[5]Campbell’s song “The Call” was first released on BBC Radio 2 on March 6th. Campbell also recorded an acoustic version of “The Call” for the Mahogany Blog on YouTube. His song “Caravan” was played on BBC Radio Shropshire on March 29th.[6]

Campbell’s songs “The Call” and “Crossroads” were featured on the fourth season of Parenthood in 2012. “Mathereal” was also featured on the fourth season of Parenthood in 2013. “The Call” appeared on the third season of Teen Wolf in 2014 and the first season of Reign in 2013.[7] "The Call" was also featured on the indie film Winter by Heidi Greensmith.[8]
