"Schoolboy Blues" is the official title of a 1964 song by Nanker Phelge otherwise known as the Rolling Stones . It was written by Mick Jagger to be the Stones' final single for Decca Records as per their contract. The track was refused by Decca, although promotional 12" singles of it were pressed in the US.
The song was only officially released later by Decca in West Germany in 1983, where it accompanied a 4-LP compilation entitled The Rest of the Best as a bonus single. That version was withdrawn and the boxed set was re-released without the single. Bootleg singles of the song alone have been issued.
