Sniff 'n' the Tears is a British rock band from London. They are best known for their hit driver's Seat .
Sniff 'n' the Tears was founded in 1974 under the name Ashes of Moon. Because the group does not manage a record deal, the Group was quickly lifted.
When the drummer Luigi Salvoni several years later listened again at the demo tape, he persuaded singer Paul Roberts (which by now had become artist in France ) about to again with Nick Dyche (guitar), Laurence NET (guitar), Keith Miller (keyboards) and Nick South (bass guitar) to start a band. In the summer of 1978 , the Group offered a record deal. The driver's Seat number was a big hit in the United States, Australia and Netherlands in 1980.
Then went downhill with the group. They scored a small hit in Netherlands with One love (that in 1980 the 34th position in the Top 40 pulled out).
In 1991 , the song was re-released after the driver's Seat was heard in a TV commercial for Pioneer Car Audio and this time took out the the number 1position.
Singer/Songwriter Paul Roberts who was also responsible for the platenhoezen pictures is now a painter.[1]
