[edit] Band Biography

Soul Coughing was an experimental band that often had strains of Jazz and Beat Poetry in their sound. They would use an upright bass, an interesting, metallic drum sound, and lots of strange samples (including frequent use of Raymond Scott loops). After three records, they broke up in 2000, and Mike Doughty has had some success as a solo artist, though his solo work is more straight-forward Folk-Rock.
