Stardust is an American popular song, composed in 1927 by Hoagy Carmichael, where in 1929 text was added by Mitchell Parish.

Originally it was "Star Dust" titled. Carmichael first made a recording of in the Gennett Records studio in Richmond. It's a song about love, and also ' a song about a song ', which is relatively rare in popular music. The song in medium tempo was a American standard and a total of more than 1,500 recordings is considered one of the most recorded songs of the 20th century. In 2004, Carmichaels original plate from 1927 as one of the 50 songs selected by the Library of Congress to be added to the National Recording Registry.
