Band Biography[]

The Statlers got their big break singing backup (and doing their own set) as part of Johnny Cash's big touring show (which they paid tribute to in their song "We Got Paid By Cash"). After a while, they split, and had quite a big success on their own, although their biggest hit was their first, "Flowers On The Wall", one of their only songs to have crossover success on the Pop charts as well. They were also known for their long running TV variety show. They semi-retired in 2002, although they still work together (minus Lew DeWitt, who died in 1986) and occasionally perform.
