Steve Harley (born in Deptford (Lewishamgreater London) as Stephen Malcolm Ronald Nice on 27 February 1951) is a British singer/songwriter.

Harley scored in 1973 with his band Cockney Rebel Sebastiana hit with ' ' and had two years later with ' Make me smile ' as Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel even more successful. By the rise of punknew wave and disco Steve Harley plates sold in the second half of the 70 's worse. He left for the USA, but failed to break through there.Although he took up a plate with renowned names such as Marc Bolan (T-Rex), Bobby Kimball (Toto) and Michael McDonald (Doobie Brothers) attacked the sales figures against. After several comeback attempts failed in ' 83, he had a hit with the love song written by Mike Batt ' Ballerina '. After starring in musicals, including The Phantom of The Opera, and again joined Harley started live performances from the second half of the 80 's again out of the shadows. He formerly presented the BBC radio program Sounds of the Seventies in which it is now hosted by British disc jockey Johnnie Walker.
