Band BiographyEdit

The husband of the late Kirsty MacColl, Steve Lillywhite was an engineer for PolyGram, though became a producer with his first work -- a demo for Ultravox. After that, he was the house producer for Island, and made many records, particularly of the New Wave genre. He did a couple records with XTC, Talking Heads, Morrissey, Phish, Dave Matthews Band, The Pogues and U2. He was also, for a time, the managing director of Mercury.
