Artist: The Minus 5

Album: Unreleased

Appears On (Mixes): Past The Barber and Gymnasium

Song Notes: The Minus 5 is Scott McCaughey from The Young Fresh Fellows' side project with Peter Buck from R.E.M. and other folks who will sometimes help out (which have included: Kurt Bloch, Chris Ballew, Ken Stringfellow, Robyn Hitchcock and many others). This is a live recording (taken from the wonderful Universal Trendsetter site) from the John Anson Ford Theater in LA, recorded September 9, 2002. It's a cover of the classic song by The Sonics, one of the original Seattle (well, technically, Tacoma) bands from the 1960s and a huge influence on The Young Fresh Fellows. (I've often said that the Fellows are like They Might Be Giants if TMBG were weaned on The Sonics records instead of The Residents records.) This was from the first record, Here Are The Sonics!!!. - Rev. Syung Myung Me
