Suspicious Minds is original composition and a single by Mark James written under his pseudonym Francis Zambon. The song is about the mistrust between two persons who are about to break off their relationship, but to maintain that relationship should transcend the distrust. This single was not a success, but a number of covers of this song made it to the charts.

The song was the last single that Presley earned the first spot in the Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian albums chart. In the United Kingdom took it a second place. Netherlands remained some left with a fourth place in the Dutch Top 40.

The song was before Elvis had left the American charts all sung by Dee Dee Warwick (sister of Dionne Warwick). They took out the 80th place in 1970 in the us. Then came Waylon Jenningsand Jessi Colter with their version in 1970 on a 25th place; a reissue in 1976 was more successful, a second place. Candi Station came In 1982 with the song in the charts in England (31st place). In 1992 I version of Dwight Yoakom for the movie Honeymoon in VegasBowling for Soup the sang in 1996. Gareth Gates scored there In 2002 as the winner of the British Pop Idol a local number one hit with it, together with The Long and Winding Road, and in 2004, Pete Yorn live on for his album Life from New JerseyAvail made a punk version in 2006, in 2009 Miss Kittinand The Hacker sang their version, followed by Rusted Root and GlasvegasClay Aiken sang it In 2010. The success never exceeded that of Presley's version. In the Benelux , there was also another recordings of Frédérique Spigt. On 3 March 2014 brought Amanda Lear a version released on single.
