Rosemary Timothy Yuro (Chicago, 1940 - August 4, Las Vegas, March 30, 2004), better known as Timi Yuro, American singer was a.
In 1952 she moved to Los Angeles. Here she took on her first album for Liberty Records in 1959. She had a major hit in 1961 with Hurt, her debutsingle. [1]
Then she had in the ' 60s and ' 70s a number of hits including I Apologize, but the success of Hurt she has never matched in international terms.
However, In a remarkable comeback in 1981 Netherlands she made when she was invited as chief guest for a TV gala around the Plates 10 day, which was organized for the first time that year. Her performance of Hurt [2] was so well received, that the new recording of it in a few weeks time in the top 5 of the Top 40 was.
Her album All Alone Am I, that shortly afterwards appeared, reached the first place of the then LP Top 50. The plate was released by the Dutch label Dureco.
Established by the Dutch success Timi temporarily in Netherlands. After a few fairly successful LPs touched her career in the second half of the 1980s, however, in a dip.She moved back to the us.
Because of a brain tumor at the age of 63 Timi Yuro died at home in her sleep. She let her husband Robert and her daughter Milan behind. According to her wish was her ashes strewn over the grave of her parents in Cicero (Illinois).
