Todd Harry Rundgren (22 June 1948Upper DarbyPennsylvania) is an American musiciansinger-songwriter and music producer.

Rundgren was born in Philadelphia. In the 1960s he played in a blues group called Woody's Truck Stop. [1together withbassist Carson of Osten he left this band in 1967 the psychedelic-rock band Nazz erect. [2Nazz consisted of Rundgren,drummer Thom Mooney Of Osten, and keyboardist Robert Antoni. They released two studio albums and achieved commercial success with the single "Hello it's Me".

Rundgren left Nazz two years after the creation. In 1969 he released an eponymous album under the name Runs out.Released their second album In 1970, Runs. The Ballad of Todd Rundgren. Runt also included Hunt Sales (drums) and his brother Tony Sales (bass), but Rundgren played himself almost all parties. In 1972 appeared under his own name the double album Something/Anything?, that included the hit "I Saw the Light" and a modified version of "Hello it's Me" contains.

Starting from the next album, A Wizard, a True Star from 1973, hit Rundgren influenced by progressive rock and he began to experiment with drugs. These influences were deepened with the band Utopia, which he founded in 1974. This band until 1986 In several bands would continue to exist. In the mean time remained Rundgren also active as a solo artist.

Rundgren is also in demand as a producer, among other things for The BandThe TubesMeat Loaf and Bad Religion.
