[edit] Band Biography

Tortoise is one of the bands that is used to define the Post-Rock movement. They do instrumental music with standard rock instruments, though they often use many different effects to get strange sounds out. Reviewers have called them "experimental, yet beautiful". They are continuing to release records. Though they may not sell a lot, they are typically very well regarded critically and amongst their fans. They have just released a covers album with Bonnie "Prince" Billy, which includes covers from many bands, including DEVO.
