[edit] Genre Description
Trip-hop is a type of electronic dance music that came out of the UK house and hip-hop scenes. Though the roots are in hip-hop, there's much more of a straight electronica sound to a lot of trip-hop stuff; the hip-hop influence is mainly seen it the use of breakbeats and samples, though, often, the vocal delivery and overall sound of a trip-hop record is somewhat dreamy. The genre used to be thought of as a dark genre, though diversification of artists lifted that label. Sometimes Abstract Hip-Hop is linked in with trip-hop, though some abstract hip-hop artists object to that classification.
