In Netherlands have singers also had success with the compositions of Jürgens, including André van Duin ("a true friend", Ich war noch niemals in New York), Joe Harris("drink red wine", "Griechischer Wein") and Gerard Cox ("evening", Abends). The biggest hit is, however, in the Dutch Gib mir deine Fear as "give me your fear" sung by both the translator André Hazes as by Guus Meeuwis.
In 1964 he made a first stab at a Eurovision victory with the song Warum nur Warum, it ended up in sixth place and the British candidate Matt Monro was made the song so well that he covered as Walk away and at number 1 in the British charts and came in second place in the American charts. The environment has its attention (5 Minutes vor Zwölf, 1982), and addiction (Rot blüht der Mouth, 1983). It is worth noting here the Blaue Album from 1988, an album that openly criticise the Catholic Church. The song Gehet hin und vermehret euch is on the public channels in Austria and Germany not broadcast because of the text.

It tells the story of Heinrich Bockelmann (Udo's grandfather), Rudjaska (Rudi) Bockelmann (Udo's father) and of course Udo itself. It also contains a large part European history, including the first world war, in which Udo's grandfather was one of the last German bankers in Russia, the second world war, and also the times of Udo's own life.
