Wet Wet Wet is a Scottish pop group, which had the most success in the second half of the 80 's to late 90 's.

Genesis[Edit][]
The four band members in 1982 founded a Quartet under the name Vortex Motion. [1] "it was choosing between crime, unemployment, football or music, we opted for the latter", said Cunningham. [2] Wet Wet Wet was founded in Glasgow in 1984. The name comes from a song by Wet Wet Wet band Scritti Politti called "Getting, Having and Holding" a part of the lyric was "My Face was Wet Wet with tears". They had a third "law" at the time, all stamped with duplicate names because there were a lot of bands such as Duran Duran , Talk Talk and.

In 1987 the band scored their first worldwide hit with Wishing I was lucky. Their debut album, Popped in Souled Out also came in that year. This album contained the big hit Angel Eyes, which is in second place ended up in the Dutch Top 40 .
The success[Edit][]
They scored their biggest hit in 1994 with the single Love is all around. This song was the soundtrack of the film Four Weddings and a Funeral. Also in Netherlands was this number several weeks on number 1. This song was up to 18 weeks in the Dutch Top 40.
Cunningham left the band drummer In 1997 . Yet by Wet Wet Wet, went with other band members. In 1998 they gave several performances in Europe as in "The Night Of The Proms". After this is broke.
In March 2004 there was a secret consultation. It was the first time since 7 years that the band members were back together in a room. A Greatest Hits Cd with 3 new songs was released, along with a DVD. In december 2004 there was a successful concert tour in the United Kingdom. There are new songs recorded and waiting for a new cd. They have also been on stage in Edinburgh at Live 8 and are also on the Live 8 dvd. The members also do their own things.
On 5 november 2007, the UK release of their latest album, Timeless. Then in december a concert tour in the United Kingdom is held.
