[edit] Band Biography
Why? is one of the quirky contenders in the Anticon crew out of sunny California. The moniker originally was only responsible for Yoni Wolf, who, if you are a fan of the experimental hip-hop label, is the man you’ve heard through the collaborations with cLOUDDEAD (with Doseone and Odd Nosdam), Greenthink (with Doseone), and Reaching Quiet (with Odd Nosdam). Wolf also recorded the first two of his solo EP’s solely under the name, but as of recently, Why? has come to represent along with Wolf, his older brother Josiah Wolf, Matt Meldon and Doug McDiarmid. The quartet has expanded the indie-hop sound originally constructed by Wolf and morphed it from an odd nasal voice backed by a scratchy drum machine to a light-hearted (with a murmur) and experimental indie-pop band.
