Song Notes: Please Don't Pull Me Out, This Is How I Would Want To Go: The Best Of XTC: This is the reason for XTC's strike. It's an absolutely gorgeous song that Andy Partridge was inordinately proud of and wanted Virgin to put it out as a single. They did, but immediately recalled and destroyed it so very, very few actually made it out, and for Andy Partridge that was the last straw, and he went on strike until Virgin agreed to release XTC from their contract. It took 5 years, but it finally happened. Of late, though, it seems that XTC and Virgin have at least somewhat mended fences, though I would be surprised if any new XTC material were to come out on the label. - Rev. Syung Myung Me
