Nzube Udezue (born 19 August 1986), better known by his stage name Zuby, is an English rapper. Zuby has released three studio albums and two EPs under his own independent record label COM Entertainment. On 15 February 2013, Zuby released an EP entitled 'Zubstep' which charted at No.12 on the UK iTunes Hip-Hop Chart. Zuby is a graduate of the University of Oxford.[1] A number of his songs have been played by BBC Radio Oxford and he has been a guest on their BBC Introducing show multiple times. He is also well known for his DIY ethic which includes personally promoting and selling his music around the UK (to date he has sold over 10,000 albums through direct-to-fan sales) and booking his own tours.

Early life Edit

Zuby was born in England on 19 August 1986. A number of his early years were spent in Saudi Arabia. He attended Oxford University from 2004 to 2007 and graduated with a degree in Computer Science in 2007.[1]

Held at gunpoint incidentEdit

Zuby, was confronted by up to five armed police officers training their weapons on him as he stepped off a train in Bournemouth. They had been tipped off by a plain-clothes officer on board who said a man wearing a dark T-shirt was threatening people with an imitation firearm. However the officers wrongly targeted the 21-year-old in a case of mistaken identity. Zuby said he was "happily listening to my iPod" when he was shouted to the ground.

Zuby said he was picked out because he was wearing a black T-shirt. He was dragged to a toilet cubicle - out of sight of the public - handcuffed and searched for a gun before being taken to a police station. "It didn't take them too long to realize they got the wrong guy", Zuby also said.
